Robert Clary, Holocaust Survivor and Corporal LeBeau on ‘Hogan’s Heroes,’ Dies at 96

The French actor and singer spent 31 months in a concentration camp but said he had no reservations about starring in a TV comedy about the Nazis.

BDE. This is sad news. He spent 31 months in concentration camps, including Auschwitz. We are losing the witnesses to the most heinous crime ever committed. I also grew up, and living, “Hogan’s Heroes” and he was the last living connection to the cast. He was also a regular face in L.A.’s Jewish community. He will be greatly missed.
