This is just pathetic. In New York it’s nearly 1 in 5. Our education system is terrible, but this happened because teaching Jewish history, WWII, and European history doesn’t happen at all in American schools. Antisemitism hit record levels in recent years. The total lack of recognition of “Jewish” as a separate ethnic identity (as opposed to the ridiculous and dishonest ideas of “white Jews” or “Jews of color”) is part of the reason why both are happening. Bigoted Jewish stereotypes are becoming normalized (again) because there is very little being taught that is authentically Jewish. The result is ignorance.
