Woke Comes for the Tudors
commentary.orgOn six successive Sunday evenings in November and December, British television viewers were served a tasty treat: the second and final tranche of episodes in the BBC’s magisterial adaption of novelist
All culture is now just a vehicle to push their agenda. Laughably, the producers and director claimed that they merely “cast the best actors possible.” Really? So even though in America blacks make up roughly 12% of the population but are in 100% of productions, and are a far smaller proportion of the population in Great. Britain, we are supposed to believe that their choices were based on who was the most talented actors available? And that is without discussing the actual danger of rewriting history to reflect leftist values, for a very ignorant population. People will actually begin to believe that history is whatever they see in these things. Worse, it teaches that truth and facts do not matter. It is revolting. It is also promising for the actors and actresses cast only because of their skin color.

Backbeat: The Beatles 'biopic' released 34 years before Sam Mendes' planned picture
portsmouth.co.ukThe 1994 film focused on Stuart Sutcliffe and the band’s time in Hamburg
I love this movie. I saw it in the theater when it first came out, as I was just beginning to learn guitar, and it, and the soundtrack, inspired me to want to form a Beatles band with this kind of energy. It should be a far more better known music biopic (weirdly, none of which are great films). I have serious doubts that the amended film will even live up to it.

JD Vance omits mention of Jews from Holocaust statement
jpost.comThe statement was the latest in a series of comments Vance has made that have triggered concern regarding his hesitancy to call out antisemites in the conservative movement.
He is a serious bastard. He cannot be allowed to be the next POTUS. He is also a total fake. His entire “I’m a poor hillbilly who overcame poverty” act was fake. He is a repulsive person. Yet, the true believer Trump supporter people still defend his every move (just like his boss who is better than Vance - but has often been a travesty in this term).

Blood on their hands
jns.orgHorrifyingly, antisemitism has become a moral obligation for liberals.
I wish that I was remotely as good a writer as Melanie Phillips is. She is correct here, the left absolutely has Jewish blood on its hands. The right does too, but at this point, they still have a lesser share of blame. We have to put politics aside and be honest about this, or this will just get worse. Unity is as crucial as ever for the Jewish community - but this is a period where we have very little room for error. As I've written before, this isn't late 20th Century America where we as Jews were deluded into believing that the world might have changed. This is the world of our grandparents - and every other Jewish generation.

Mark Levin gives Tucker Carlson a well-deserved dressing-down
jns.orgA spat between two MAGA media personalities reflects the ideological split in the movement—and in the Trump administration.
This is why I’ve always respected Mark Levin. And I’ll point out, that I realized that Tucker Carlson was an antisemite literally years before other people caught on. Other conservatives used to argue with me about this passionately. He is scum. It has been obvious, or should have been to everyone else, for years. Mark Levin is the opposite, he is a man of integrity. He is passionately pro-Jewish, understands the political world better than most people, and sincerely defends his positions (intellectually). I don’t always agree, but I know that any position he takes will be consistently intellectually honest. Rare today in politics. I applaud him for this, and this is not the first time he has publicly taken a position opposing the administration, even though he vehemently supports it. That is integrity.

The Vanishing World of Neon Motel Signs - Atlas Obscura
atlasobscura.comA photographer has spent decades capturing these symbols of Americana and the open road.
I love these old signs. Many years ago, before everyone had a camera on their phone, I wanted to put together a coffee table book about old neon signs. That was in the '90s. It is very sad to watch the rapidity with which these signs are disappearing. It was/is an endemic part of Americana. Worse, their replacements are the boring, generic, sameness of the typical 21st century roadside experience, which has replaced style with monotony. Not just hotel signs either, but all signage. Have you seen Las Vegas lately? It looks a lot more like any other new urban environment than Las Vegas. It's just another symbol of the current American desire to replace individualism with conformity.

elderofziyon.blogspot.comPaul Simon signed a letter supporting Marwan Barghouti’s release. This column explains Barghouti’s murders and why Simon’s stance is so troubling.
This is so disappointing. I’ve been a Simon and Garfunkel guy ever since I was a (very) small child. I have always defended secular Jews with no Jewish education (which is the case with nearly 100% of them), because they do not have the intellectual tools to make objective judgments about Jewish issues. But, this is beyond the realm of “poorly educated,” and is an example of the complete moral bankruptcy of leftists. I will never listen to Simon and Garfunkel the same way again.

esquire.comFrom humble beginnings at a kitchen table
This is interesting if you can get past the typical pretentious millennial writing. For some reason, they think everything is “curated,” and like the little corporate slave drones they are, always use “brand” instead of something like “company” or even “identity” (probably because they’ve destroyed that word too). Also, I’ve always been a Bang & Olufsen guy, maybe it is time to explore Marantz.

Japan Airlines' child icon helps passengers avoid seats near children
cnbc.comJapan Airlines has introduced a new feature on its booking system to tell passengers where young children will be seated during their flight.
I think this is GREAT! Years ago I came up with an idea for an "adults only" airline. People were pretty upset with me about it. I understand why it offends some parents, but sorry, many of us do not want to be locked into a plane stuck next to your screaming kid, ESPECIALLY in today's climate which seems to 1. Encourage parents to never discipline their kids & 2. The public/private boundary has been erased almost entirely. This is a move in the correct direction!

The 14 Coolest Drive-In Movie Theaters in America | Mental Floss
mentalfloss.comAt the peak of their popularity, America was home to 4000 drive-ins, but that number now hovers around the 355 mark. Here are a few of our personal favorites.
It is pathetic that California, where the drive-in was practically invented, doesn’t have a single entry on this list. We still have a few, but too many of the people here are too shallow to appreciate anything that isn’t the trend of the moment.

We're Sorry, WHAT?? British AI Firm To Suppress Speech They Deem 'Misinformation' Ahead of 2024 Elections
twitchy.comThe left truly seems to be completely hellbent on creating an Orwellian nightmare for the rest of us, and a British AI firm is just the latest example. 'Logically.AI' has been in talks with various states and DHS to expand its social media surveillance for the 2024 presidential election.
They really want an Orwellian reality. Of course, it benefits them. They will do ANYTHING to make it realty, unless we stop them. Sites like this one are part of the solution.

USC Professor Banned From Campus for Being Mean to Hamas
redstate.comIn a shocking violation of free speech, a USC professor has been suspended and banned from campus after he spoke against Hamas.
I was at USC in the late 80s, professors openly defended the first intifada in class, and denied Israel’s right to exist. Antisemitism on campus has always been rampant. A few years ago, USC refused to take any action at all against a Muslim professor who promoted Holocaust denial. There are never consequences for Jew hatred on campus. BUT, if a Jewish professor calls Hamas a terrorist group, and says that they should all be killed, both true: his career is ended, and the Arab, Muslim students are catered to immediately, and enthusiastically.
