I couldn’t agree more. The more secular Jewish community has spent 70 years saying “never again,” without spending that time teaching Jews what it means to be Jewish. Organizations like the ADL, the Federations, the National Council of Jewish Women and on and on and on have replaced Jewish identity in the United States with something that resembles American leftism more than anything authentically Jewish. That philosophy has an extremely distorted version of “tikkun olam” at its core. They then combine that with “Holocaust education” to justify participating in every imaginable left wing cause, often, sadly, even those that are anti-Israel, and sometimes even anti-Jewish. It is destructive and is one reason why the secular American Jewish world has utterly failed at inspiring people to live Jewish lives.

We have to fight antisemitism by fighting back, and not by repeating tired cliches and phrases. We have to inspire Jews by teaching them about Judaism and our history. Holocaust education is important, but it is only one part of that. We also have to accept that teaching the world about the Holocaust isn’t going to make them like us any more, or less, than they do now. Strength and conviction accomplish far more than conversations, memos, and everything else that the organized secular Jewish bureaucracy has been pretending (for decades) is effective.

Seventy six years ago my father came home fro World War 2 and was told that he could y enroll in Brooklyn College because they had a quota on the number of Jews allowed in the school and they had reached that quota. He eventually found his way in-but it was DESPITE the rampant antisemitism of the time. Its 2022 and nothing has changed. Things did get better. For a while. Now we’re in the same morass that we were in then-the only difference is that the perpetrators tend to look different these days. We’ve always been hated by the left and the right. It’s unquestionable that today the vast majority of antisemitism comes from the left, almost ALL of it couched in the language of being “anti-Israel” or “anti-Zionist.” Those are the excuses. However, it’s all the same thing. When it was bad to be white, we were deemed not white. Now the left believes that whiteness is bad, they’ve decided that we’re white. I’m totally sick of it. The time has come to fight back.

That’s typical leftist rhetoric. How anyone can be Jewish and naive enough to believe that this isn’t the exact same language used to denigrate us throughout history is beyond me. If anyone on the right, let alone people on virtually every single college campus, said that - they would be, correctly, endlessly condemned. The Jewish community needs to stop picking its battles based on politics.

First of all, the fact that they even have a department of "Department of Gender and Sexuality Studies" demonstrates how far USC, which is where my undergrad degree comes from, has slipped. WHAT do they expect when they ad far left pseudo-academic departments? The far left is thoroughly antisemitic, thoroughly the enemy of Israel (and America), and don't even attempt to hide it. How can these people even pretend to be surprised that this is always where leftist studies end up? More importantly, USC, which I am frankly embarrassed by at this point, has been tolerating antisemitism from its professors for years. A few years ago I cut off all ties with USC because they allowed an assistant professor to push Holocaust denial, and then refused to meet with members of the Jewish community, including me, to discuss how heinous the entire situation was. Jewish students who are proudly Jewish and support Israel, are regularly harassed and singled out for derision. Even when I was there-antisemitism was common. If you're Jewish and/or pro-Israel, please DO NOT send you kids to this school. Not that any of the major universities in the United States are any better.

Bob Dylan’s ‘Neighborhood Bully’ Gets Memory-Holed

I as at sure of this should go in “Music,” “Social Media,” or in this Topic. “Neighborhood Bully” is one of my favorite Bob Dylan songs and I loved it when it came out when I was in high school. It is one of the few examples of anJewish musician bravely, and proudly, announcing his love for Israel. More than gang, he was telling the truth about the world’s attitude toward Israel. Now pride in Israel, and honesty about it, is labeled “hate speech.” Which is exactly why used to play it when I (occasionally) DJ I play it. I live that it would offend the Israel haters. If it offended people-that made me live it even more.


And of course YouTube, a major advocate, and culprit, for censorship is only to happy to push the far left’s antisemitic attitude toward the Jewish state. That kind of censor his only one of the reasons why we started Moptu. That kind of censorship will never happen here. DC Accidentally Made Batman Jewish (But Doesn't Talk About It)

Ok, a few caveats about this:

1. Even he converted, Bruce Wayne would be Jewish. There is no “converting away” in Judaism. Once you are halachically Jewish (Jewish according to Jewish law), there is no way to change that status.

2. It’s absurd (and pathetic that the writer needed to make this case) that Bruce Wayne is “white” (whatever that means) because he hasn’t faced adversity. There are millions of white people who face every form of adversity. Discrimination, poverty, addiction are part of the experience of every race/ethnicity and have zero to do with race (which is itself an outmoded and primitive idea).

3. Jews, and I am Jewish, are NOT white. All of us, Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Mizrahi originate at some point in the Middle East. The only exception would be converts that have no genetically Jewish ancestors. So it’s the height of absurdity to claim that Arabs, for example, are not white, or that some Jews are not white, and that other Jews are. Finally, Jews have been harassed, attacked, and murdered for millennia for not being “white.” We didn’t suddenly become white because pretending we’re white is a convenient political narrative for some quarters of the political culture. If you don’t think it’s absurd, a Jew from Mexico, with an identical Jewish immigrant background to me, would be considered a “Hispanic Jew,” while I, from across the border, am white.” If that makes sense to you, your logic skills are not fully developed.
